Questions before you book

Plain answers on risks, fees, children and what a visit is like.

01What happens at my first appointment?

Plan on about 60 minutes. Dr. Campos asks about your history, examines how you move, explains what she found and what the options are, and you decide what happens next. Care starts that day only if you agree. Wear clothes you can move in; you stay dressed for the exam.

02Is chiropractic care safe?

Chiropractic care is widely used and generally well tolerated, but it carries risks, as any care does. Some people are sore for a day or so afterward. Rarely, a neck adjustment has been linked to a tear in an artery, which can lead to a stroke. Dr. Campos asks about your history first, explains the risks before any adjustment, and sends you to a physician first when that is the better step.

03Will an adjustment hurt?

Many people feel little during an adjustment, and you may hear a popping sound. Some feel sore afterward, like after a new workout. Tell Dr. Campos at any point and she will change what she is doing or stop. Low-force techniques are available.

04How many visits will I need?

Your doctor sets a plan after the exam and goes over it with you as you go. We do not name a number of visits before we have examined you, and you can change or end the plan at any time.

05Do you take my insurance?

We bill many insurance plans, and what a plan pays for chiropractic visits differs from plan to plan. Our front desk checks your benefits before your first visit and calls you with what they find. The How fees work page has the details.

06What if I do not use insurance?

You have the right to a Good Faith Estimate. We give you a written estimate in advance, before your first visit, and you pay at the visit. After each visit we can give you an itemized receipt.

07Do I need X-rays?

Not at every visit. We take X-rays only when Dr. Campos decides they are medically necessary, and she explains why before she asks. If you have recent imaging from another provider, bring it.

08Can my child come, or can I come while pregnant?

Children are welcome with a parent or guardian, who stays in the room. For children and for pregnancy we use gentle, low-force techniques. We do not claim that chiropractic care treats childhood illnesses or changes how a pregnancy or birth goes.

09What if I have already seen another provider?

That is fine. Bring recent imaging or notes if you have them, and tell us what you have already tried. With your permission, we can send a note to your other provider.

10What is your cancellation policy?

Call us as early as you can to change or cancel a visit. The front desk goes over the practice's policy with you before your first visit.

PATIENT NOTES

What patients say

“I liked that the doctor named the risks out loud and asked if I had questions. I knew what to expect.”

Rochelle B.Teacher

“We came as a family and everyone was treated like a person, not a chart. The estimate in writing was a relief.”

Christie G.Parent of two

“The office is calm and the table is easy to get on and off. Dr. Campos stopped right away when I asked.”

Sunita R.Office worker

“I came in unsure about chiropractic care. She said what it does and does not do, and left the decision to me.”
